PTA Reflections Program
SFES PTA is ready to get students excited for the PTA Reflections Program! It is a Nationwide PTA program that is a creative and fun way for all students to engage in the arts. There are six categories for entry: film, dance, musical composition, photography, visual arts, and literature, with two age groups for each category: K-2 (Primary) and 3-5 (Intermediate). Students can submit artwork to the front office between now and December 8th. Their submitted pieces are judged by volunteers using program guidelines. The top three winning entries in each category and age group advance to the Council level. From the Council level, the top three winners proceed to the state level. The top winners at the state level in each category and age group proceed to the National PTA.
Please review the student entry forms and read the guidelines carefully. They are available in Friday folders and by clicking the file link below. Please get in touch with Nadia at [email protected] with any questions.

Stevens Forest was the only Maryland School to earn this distinction during the 2014-2016 cycle, and remains the only school in Howard County and one of four across Maryland to earn the distinction in 2016-2018. We are proud to say that we have been recognized as a National PTA School of Excellence for 2022-2024.

Our PTA meetings will be virtual over Zoom, with potential to move to a hybrid model. These meetings are an opportunity for our parents and guardians to get to know our Principal, Mrs. Katie Carter, our Assistant Principal, Dr. Casey Schurman, and other members of our school community. More importantly, it's your chance to ask questions, learn about what is happening in our school and the Oakland Mills Community, and have YOUR voice heard.
We are always happy to respond to any questions. If we don't know the answer, we will connect you with the person at the school or in the county who can answer. You can always contact our President, Mike Elser at [email protected].
